On Saturday night, Senator Elizabeth Warren started to pitch her new plan of money for everyone. Apparently, the discussions of reparations are not enough, we need to go back and find everyone that has ever had to pay too much for something and give them money back. It’s almost like watching an episode of Oprah, everyone gets some money!
It’s just the latest in the line of radical positions by Democrats that are attempting to buy any vote that they can possibly buy. Slowly, all the minority and special interest groups are getting addressed with the thoughts of potential reparations. This has lead to quite the response from a lot of conservative commentators across Twitter. I particularly laughed when reading Matt Walsh’s comments.
At what point do we draw the line on giving anyone money? I discussed on the podcast this week about reparations and how they are a horrible and almost impossible idea. I’ve discussed it as well in a recent blog. This type of policy will just not work for us.
A lot of comments to Warren’s tweet revolved around higher tax rates for singles, reparations for Native Americans and retroactive compensation for things such as missing out on stock trades and marijuana growth while it was illegal. Do these responses have validity? Apparently so in Elizabeth Warren’s world. Just the simple discussion of reparations is ridiculous and it continues to get out of control.
These latest comments just continue the pandering of the Democratic Party to anyone that will listen. It is an attempt to buy the vote of these special interest groups. As the race to the left continues, the winner may very well be the one that can promise the most free cash and free government programs. At the end of the day, who is going to pay for all of this? It certainly isn’t any of these Democrats.
