A Democratic congressman admitted that Hunter Biden did “really unlawful and wrong things” during an interview on ABC News.
“They have not laid a glove on Joe Biden,” Rep. Jamie Raskin (D., Md.) said Sunday. “As president, they haven’t been able to show any criminal corruption on his part. What they’ve got is Hunter Biden, and we all seem clear that this guy was addicted to drugs and did a lot of really unlawful and wrong things.”
Raskin added that he wants to “let the justice system run its course,” referring to the ongoing legal battles Hunter Biden is facing.
Raskin’s comments come as members of the media increasingly acknowledge the accusations against Hunter Biden. MSNBC admitted last month that Hunter Biden’s actions were “obviously unseemly and problematic” and “profiteering.”
Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to tax crime charges last month after a federal judge rejected a plea deal he made with the Justice Department that would have seen him avoid prison time. He is accused of failing to pay taxes on millions of dollars from overseas dealings.
Had the deal gone through, Hunter Biden would have pleaded guilty to misdemeanor tax crimes and received immunity on a broad range of criminal charges, but federal judge Maryellen Noreika took issue with the broad immunity the first son would have won through the deal. She told prosecutors and Biden’s legal team last month to craft a new one. She said the original deal was “not standard” and “different from what I normally see.”

“I have never spoken to my son about his overseas dealings,” Biden told Fox News’s Peter Doocy in 2019, before yelling at him to “ask the right questions.”
Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s former business partner who sat with him on the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings, told the House Oversight Committee that Hunter Biden called his father more than 20 times during business meetings to sell the Biden “brand.”
