On Tuesday, Senator Kamala Harris said she support the idea of a third gender option on federal ID forms. Kirsten Gillibrand also came out in support of this back in February. Harris states that she sees this as a human rights issue and LGBTQ rights issue. The National Center for Transgender Equality states that non-binary gender is when someone doesn’t have a normal male/female gender. The discussion even continues to understanding gender. At Gender Spectrum, gender is something that is assigned to you at birth. Planned Parenthood states that gender is more than what is assigned to you at birth. Gender is not assigned at birth but is determined based on chromosomal factors.
Democrats have long claimed to be the party of science. Their party values science and technology and have been an advocate of climate change science for many years. They want to advocate for things like the Green New Deal claiming that science has supported the world ending in 12 years, yet will not support the fact that science states that you are born as a male or female based on the chromosomes passed to you by your father. The World Health Organization identifies two genders, male and female. Scripture teaches that creation was made as male and female in Genesis 1:27. Even if you do not believe in the creation story as told in scripture, science will tell you that gender is between male and female. It takes a male and a female to procreate. A male cannot create a child with a male, a female cannot create a female with a female. The female must have the sperm from a male, a male must have the egg from the female. When will we stop pandering to these thoughts as a society and get back to the real issues?
The bumblings of the Democratic Party on issues like LGBTQ always seem to have a way of highlighting what the GOP has ALSO failed to do. For instance, the GOP has a wide open door to become the “party of science” if it would only capitalize on it. Instead of involving ourselves with every foreign war the on planet , why not use those resources for space exploration or deep sea exploration? Let’s develop safer tech for deep sea drilling that also protects the environment. Let’s champion the cause of being the first nation to plant a flag on Mars. Divest from Syria, invest in NASA. But no, we’re going to “investigate the investigators”, attack Hollywood no-body’s on Twitter, and build a legacy of only doing the opposite of what the previous administration did.
Our party could sweep the spineless and (apparently) genderless DNC in the 2020 elections if it could only detangle itself from the same theatrics and rhetorical games that have lowered the DNC to where it is now. Let’s see more leadership from Congress and the WH and bring it home in 2020.
