Sacramento, CA — The group leading the campaign to recall Gavin Newsom has announced that they have collected enough signatures to trigger a recall election. The group needed 1.4 million verified signatures, but has collected nearly 2 million signatures as part of their campaign.
With the announcement, Democrats began their disinformation campaign against the groups leading the fight against Newsom. Sen. Bernie Sanders said that the group was a right-wing group that was upset that Newsom was advising residents to wear masks and follow science. Except Newsom’s dealings throughout the pandemic have always benefited his donors over the citizens.
Right-wing Republicans in CA are trying to recall @GavinNewsom for the crime of telling people to wear masks and for listening to scientists during COVID. Extremist Republicans have done enough to undermine democracy already. We must all unite to oppose the recall in California.

Not to mention that if Newsom were really following the science, then he would open his state back up. Florida and other states have recognized this either having never closed or reopening based on the data. It’s very clear, states who imposed ridiculous mandates are no better off than those who remained open.
While most believed they would obtain enough signatures to require a special election on Newsom, many may be surprised at where the signatures came from. The editor from the California Globe shared the following information regarding those who signed the petition.

There is still work to be done as the group will continue to turn in signatures for the next two weeks. There could be concerns about lack of signature verification and many on the right are already discussing how the Democrats will work to attempt to steal this special election. This special election will certainly have the eyes of the nation on it.
Can the Republicans field a candidate that stands a chance to win? Democrats have held the office in California since 2011 when Arnold Schwarzenegger left office. Several candidates are eyeing the opportunity to challenge Newsom.
Californians have the opportunity to do something great for their state. They have the opportunity to turn the tide on the corruption and oppression and put the focus once again on someone who is more interested in their state than their campaign donors. But will they?
