Austin, TX — The Department of Justice announced on Friday that it will take Texas’ pro-life law to the Supreme Court. The law, which has saved thousands of lives since being implemented, is a major focus of the Biden regime’s DOJ.
The Texas law has been a point of controversy for the radical left since being implemented. The law, which focuses on preserving life once cardiac activity is detected, has been called the most restrictive law in the nation. The truth is, it is one of the most aggressive laws in the nation to save lives.
In a previous ruling, the Supreme Court refused to accept an emergency appeal. It was blasted by President Joe Biden and the radical left as they started working the law through the court system.
The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals allowed the measure to remain in place while the appeal process was being conducted. A previous decision from a lower court had placed a stay, allowing abortions to continue.
Under the law, Americans can file civil suits for violations. Multiple lawsuits had been filed already as multiple abortion clinics continued to provide services. Others had stopped in fear of the civil suits, preserving life for many children in the state.
From the time it passed, Attorney General Merrick Garland has argued that the law is unconstitutional. The radical left has argued that unless the law is overturned, other conservative states will follow the example.
The law was a new approach when compared to other pro-life bills that had been passed. With the focus on civil court rather than criminal court, it changes the way the Supreme Court can view the bill under past precedent.
