Ft Lauderdale, FL — The radical left wants Americans to submit at every possible turn, including in how they choose to make a living. It could not be any more evidenced than by what is happening in south Florida.
On Sunday, the South Florida Sun Sentinel ran an article that talked about how a law passed in March is causing issues for homeowners now. The bill, HB 403, removes local restrictions on Floridians who would like to start a home based business. In the past, local governments could block businesses, but the bill encourages businesses.
That became a problem when Jameson Labady decided he wanted to start an ammunition resale business inside his home. The business plan did not involve any storage of ammunition on site, as Labady would simply purchase the ammunition and then ship it directly to the purchaser. In reality, it’s a dropshipping business which thousands of Americans do everyday.
The Sun Sentinel said that the city panicked when they saw the application, knowing they could not stop it. They were unable to prevent Labady from pursuing his small business and working from home. How dare anyone want to start a business that the radical left does not approve of!
The Sun Sentinel immediately started to label the possibility of home based businesses as an issue. They compared the ammunition supply business that Labady wanted to start with that of a strip club. Yes, ammunition supply is similar to owning a strip club apparently.
What is the problem with someone starting a home based business? Tell me exactly how a home based business, such as what Labady described, is an issue? Is his line of work going to prohibit anyone in his neighborhood from living in their home? Absolutely not.
It’s just another example of how the radical left wants to control every aspect of life for Americans. They do not want you to own or operate anything that they have no control over. You should work with submissive companies who are willing to comply with their vaccination mandates and massive taxation plans.
Americans should be allowed to work from home and we should encourage it in any way that we can. That was the exact point of HB 403, to encourage Americans to go out and achieve their dreams and start a business.
Small businesses help the economy and provide competition for the major firms that would like to monopolize their industry. Labady’s business would have done nothing to cause issues with any of his neighbors, or with causing any unnecessary risk for his neighbors. He was not storing thousands of pounds of gun powder in his home.
The problem is it appears that some Florida Republicans are willing to bow to the pressure of local leaders who want control. The Sun Sentinel quoted Republican Rep. Chip LaMarca and said:
The bill’s intent was to make it easier so an “insurance salesman or consultant wouldn’t be penalized for working from your dining room table,” but elected officials don’t want to “change the character of neighborhoods.”
I have some problems with that statement. So you are allowing an insurance salesman or a consultant to work from their table, but not an ammunition salesman? Insurance sales does not involve holding inventory, but simply selling products and providing receipts. Is that not what Labady would have been doing?
The problem is that it was an ammunition business, a business that is despised by the radical left who wants to eliminate it at any turn. They hate anything that relates to firearms, ammunition, or any way that an American can defend themselves from radical tyranny like we are experiencing in our nation right now.
If this would have been a COVID vaccine propaganda business, they would have celebrated it and put it on the news. They would have celebrated Labady as a local hero. Instead, he gets labeled beside someone that wants to start a strip club.
Florida Republicans need to hold the line on this bill. We need to encourage more people to start businesses and this bill was a great step toward that. Don’t bow down simply because the radical left is spreading more of their fake news.
