Bald Head Island, N.C.–Mark Twain once stated that “…it is far easier to fool a man than it is to convince him that he got fooled”.
Easy enough to understand why we would be reluctant to admit a mistake; as ‘Homo Sap’, once we have made a decision (from the Latin ‘Decidere’-means ‘to cut; to cut off from’) we’ve made a commitment to follow a particular path.
And admitting that we are on the wrong path means acknowledging that we, somehow, failed. Failed in judgment, failed in calculation, failed in commitment, failed in execution. A blow to the ol’ Ego to be sure.
These are tough things to admit; but one of the only ways to change one’s path is to admit that you are on the wrong one.
Biden repeatedly tucks his tail and retreats to Delaware, and we are left with a malignant mess that is growing. Geometrically (look it up).
So let’s pull up our laundry list of what we collectively decided to use to dam the river of mean Tweets, shall we?
- There is a rise of authoritarianism worldwide, with formerly self-governing governments turning on their own citizens, criminalizing any criticism as “terrorism,” and heading towards Communist-style social credit systems under a inflated, now permanent, state of “Public Emergency™”
- With an affirmative-action Supreme Court nominee, the leftist wing of the court will continue to attack the Constitution for decades to come.
- Any disagreement or difference of opinion or refusal to blindly follow a set of orders or indoctrination has been finally distilled down to one simple cause: racism.
Didn’t get hired? Racism.
Turned down for a date? Racism.
Not enough pineapple on your pizza? Racism
Answer to chain rule in differential mathematics? Racism.
(Editor’s note: I have a minor in differential mathematics. I assure you that it wants to kill ALL of us equally.)
Our new “GoTo” that explains every single problem that mankind has ever experienced. No need to do research, or use logical thinking. Tell those particle physicist chaps at CERN to get stuffed; we have discovered the Theory of Everything. It’s ALL caused by racism.
- Congress is embracing spending levels that will clench your sphincters while the nation’s economy is not only weak but saturated with the largest amount of government debt in all of world history. (Editor’s note: as an example, a huge amount of the funding went to “Gender Studies in Pakistan”. Buddy of mine is from there; he assures me that they are NOT studying gender. “If you have any question about your gender you end up hanging from a noose. Period.” So one wonders where the money might actually be going??)
- Male predators invading women’s and girls’ private areas, while ‘identifying as female’ has become the new GoTo (replacing skill and talent) to win physically based competitions.
- United States military deployment against American civilians has now become a regular occurrence.
- We have historic levels of price increases especially harming the poor and working class, all while claiming that the economy is doing “Great™” and that $3.80 a gallon (it was around $1.90 around here before) is simply the price that we all agreed to pay to push forward our “Values™”.
- There is a rise of authoritarianism worldwide, with formerly self-governing governments turning on their own citizens, criminalizing any criticism as “terrorism,” and heading towards Communist-style social credit systems under a inflated, now permanent, state of “Public Emergency™”
- Legislators and courts mostly stand by and watch. (If you don’t believe it’s permanent, ask yourself: Exactly when is it going to end? Here’s a guess: It won’t. Ever.)
- International drug cartels have opened our southern border wide to mass human trafficking as illegasl pour by the thousands into our borders.
- In the dead of night, our presidential administration flies unknown foreigners all over the country.
- As it has for other manufactured migration “crises,” the United Nations is assisting this effort to end U.S. sovereignty in its push for the “New World Order”.
- Don’t forget the rising crime, “Defund the Police” seems to have some homeopathic roots in the philosophy (“The lower the concentration the greater the effect”) that is not playing out well in the real world. I have been trying it with my checkbook for decades with less than impressive results.
- A revered presidential hopeful that has had up to 90 “close” associates commit suicide.
- Deterioration of infrastructure, even as we pass HUGE spending bills to correct this. Of course, at the same time the bill is a little diluted, with saving puppies, kissing grandma, and singing the Banner also on the docket. As well as studying “the effect of Reggae on Orb spiders”, funding a color change for NPR’s logo, and deciding whether or not SPAM should be classified as a building material. I think that last is a sarcastic joke, but I don’t want to put money on it.
That’s enough bleak for one day; continued tomorrow.
