The Biden regime’s Catch and Release program is doing a massive number on American national sovereignty.
According to California Congressman Tom McClintock, 836,000 border crossers and illegal aliens were released into the interior of the United States since Biden was installed as president in January 2021.
John Binder of Breitbart News put these migration release numbers into perspective by noting that the 830,000 illegal aliens released into the interior constitute “a foreign population larger than the population of the state of North Dakota.”
At a House Judiciary Committee hearing that took place on April 28, 2022, McClintock questioned Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about the Biden regime’s Catch & Release policies. He asked the DHS chief, “How does this benefit Americans?” When the Biden regime allows tens of thousands of border crossers and illegal aliens into American communities to run around with impunity on a monthly basis, it’s very reasonable for elected officials to pressure Mayorkas and his pro-open borders ilk.
“Since the administration took office you’ve deliberately released, into the United States, 836,000 illegal immigrants who crossed our borders in violation of our laws and sovereignty,” McClintock declared. “Now that is more than the entire population of the state of North Dakota.”
“I’d like to know why you think this benefits Americans. Packing classrooms with non-English speaking students, flooding emergency rooms with illegals demanding care, making it harder to deport criminal illegal aliens, flooding the labor market with cheap foreign labor. How does this benefit Americans?” McClintock inquired when he was grilling Mayorkas.
Furthermore, McClintock called attention to how DHS has let roughly 600,000 illegal aliens cross the southern border into the United States. None of these illegal aliens were even detected by Border Patrol agents.
“This is more than the entire population of the state of Wyoming,” McClintock noted.
If the Biden regime follows through with repealing Title 42, the public health order activated at the border to prevent illegal immigration throughout the Trump administration, McClintock believes roughly 18,000 illegal aliens could be released into the American interior on a daily basis .
“That is the same as admitting a new state of Alaska every 40 days,” McClintock declared.
Mayorkas pushed back against McClintock’s probing by asserting that the majority of border crossers and illegal aliens released into the interior appear at their initial immigration and asylum hearings. McClintock countered by pointing out that nine out of ten asylum claims are rejected. Moreover, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deports only fewer than 15% of the aliens who are not eligible for receiving asylum.
“You’ve already instructed ICE that mere illegal presence in the country is not grounds for deportation,” McClintock stated. “So they stay and await the next amnesty. That’s what you mean by ‘enforcement proceedings’ because that’s what you do.”
The influx of migrants being let into the US is breathtaking. At the current rate, that means there will be over 3 million illegal aliens in the US by the end of Biden’s term, about the same population as Arkansas and more people than the city of Chicago.
