Gee, maybe Dennis Rodman should have gone to Russia to free WNBA star Brittney Griner because Biden sure as heck ain’t doin’ it. Personally, I think she should stay where she is and do her time. She wasn’t “wrongfully imprisoned.” The woman broke the law, and now she’s paying the price. My God, how many people in the US are in prison for the same basic situation? But of course, the left is trying to say it’s all “wrongful” and “unjust,” and I am sure they think it’s racist, too.
But Joe Biden vowed to get this woman out, and as I said back when he made that promise “Brittney better not hold her breath.” Joe isn’t exactly the most competent person on the planet and neither are his ding-a-ling staff. Would you want YOUR LIFE in his shaky old hands? I know I wouldn’t.
And as the days tick by, apparently, Brittney isn’t doing so well. She’s very stressed right now as she prepares for her appeals process in Russia. People Magazine reported that more than a month has passed since Brittney Griner was sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison, and the WNBA star is “stressed” as she waits for news on her appeal process or a possible prisoner exchange, her lawyer tells PEOPLE.
With no new updates on her next possible steps, “Brittney is stressed and very much concerned with the future,” her lawyer Maria Blagovolina, a partner at Rybalkin Gortsunyan Dyakin and Partners, says.
Griner was sentenced to nine years in prison on Aug. 4 on charges of smuggling drugs into the country, just below the maximum sentence of 10 years. After the trial, Blagovolina had said the sentence was “absolutely unreasonable,” and that she and Griner’s legal team will file an appeal as soon as possible.
Once the appeal does begin, the process will also take several months, another of Griner’s lawyers, Alexander Boykov, from the Moscow Legal Center, told PEOPLE. “It’s not very fast.”
We’ll see if her appeals process works. I think she has a better chance with that than she does with Joe Biden.
