In November 2023, the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) reported that they had intercepted a total of 4,797 Chinese nationals on the border between the United States and Mexico in the southwestern region of the United States. With 4,261 meetings with Chinese at the border in October and 4,042 interactions in September, this month marks the third consecutive month that a record has been set for the number of monthly encounters with Chinese nationals at the border.
