Democrats continued their push to make all things free. On Monday, Senator Bernie Sanders released his student debt forgiveness plan that wipes away any and all student debt and makes college free across many public universities. The news throughout the day was dominated on social media by the arguments supporting the plan.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has supported the plan, spoke out along side Sanders in a press conference with a compelling story about someone she mentored.
Apparently, a young woman from a middle class family was accepted to her dream college, but was facing $250,000 in student debt in order to attend. It’s blatantly obvious that this story is made up based on AOC’s struggle to share the story as well as the variations in the story. Initially, the girl in the story was 3-4 years younger than AOC, but as the story progresses she’s 17 years old while AOC is 19 years old. Then she’s goes back and she’s 16 years old. I guess it’s tough to keep the story straight if you make it up as you go.
Other leading Democrats joined in the argument for forgiveness of student debt. Ilhan Omar spoke out on behalf of the 45 million, of which she admitted to be part of, that own student debt. She argued that this student debt has prohibited people from buying homes, starting families, and entering into public service.
Representative Omar’s student loan debt did not prevent her from entering into the public sector and from starting a family. I will not even start on the fact about how her student debt did not prevent her from filing false tax returns.
This latest proposal just continues the free stuff parade by 2020 Democratic Candidates. Real Clear Politics had a great article back in April highlighting the many proposals of “free stuff” by Democrats and their cost. So far, the 2020 Democrats have promised: free childcare, free college, free guaranteed wages, free reparations, free housing, and free healthcare.
Democrats in the 2020 election are apparently under the impression that money is generated for the federal government by printing money until you have enough printed to pay for everything. Each proposal is outlined with a revenue solution that falls far short of the ability to pay for the free program.
The tax revenue will dry up and everyone will be forced to live off the government. Of course, government dependency and socialism are the ultimate goals of these extreme left lunatics. There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about moderate Democrats and their role in the 2020 election. Do moderate Democrats still exist? I think it’s time to put them on the list for being at risk of extinction.
