Charlotte, NC – In a recent statement to the Democratic Socialists of America, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) said that they need to educate Americans about socialism like they are in school. The statements were made in a video appearance at an event on Tuesday.
In the same video, she advocates for people to boycott returning to work. This follows up on a previous interview she gave to Vice TV where she suggests Americans refuse to return to work.
The Representative has been garnering attention for her comments throughout the coronavirus event. She previously celebrated the crash of the oil market, has pushed the notion that the shut down could last for years, all while pushing for her socialist agenda.
On Wednesday, she also advocated against the stock market. Responding to a tweet about the market performance, she said that capitalism is to blame. She seems suggests that capitalism is when Wall Street captures Congress. Obviously, the economics degree she has was not put to good use.
Hint: it starts with a C and ends with -apitalism
(aka this is what happens when Wall Street captures Congress and writes themselves bailout check after bailout check as working people die) https://t.co/S5o9yfD4zc

For the record, the Dow is down from a high of 29,551 to it’s current level of just over 23,000. That equates to trillions of dollars lost in the stock market. I would say it is far from the market having received a bailout.
AOC continues to ignore the fact that the shut downs are the cause of the economic conditions. The economy was preforming well until the coronavirus shutdowns were put into place. She and her democratic socialist friends would like to continue to erode the Constitutional rights that Americans have as part of the coronavirus pandemic.
In case you do want to be educated on the socialist platform, I would love to help out. AOC and her DSA friends would like to remove your freedoms and force you onto government programs. They will take care of your house, your education, your healthcare and your salary. You can get all sorts of free things. The only thing you have to do is give up all your freedoms.
I have no intentions to give up any freedoms for government assistance or care. The government would like you to think they know best. I think the quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin says it best. They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
