Washington, DC – Late in the evening on Monday, new Associate Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett took the Constitutional oath of office. Barrett’s nomination passed the Senate by a 52-48 vote, completely along party lines. One Republican, Susan Collins, voted no with the Democrats.
Throughout the statements before the vote, Republicans shared how Democrats were the ones that made this possible. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) shared that Democrats changed the rules to force through lower court appointments.
He also shared how they had changed the typical way justices were approved by making it a party issue. While his speech was not as fiery as the Democrats, his points were well made.
After he shared how he had supported nominees on both sides of the political spectrum, the vote took place confirming Barrett. Soon after the vote, Democrats took to the media circuit and started sharing their plans for revenge.
Sen. Chuck Schumer said that Republicans will regret this move to appoint Barrett and will regret the move for a long time. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said that the move was manipulation and she was critical of the move.
Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) said that the move to confirm Barrett was illegitimate and should not have happened. As previously mentioned, Democrats first modified Senate rules in order to approve judicial appointments back under former Majority Leader Harry Reid. Even so, Democrats want to call this illegitimate and illegal.
Other Democrats started making the call to expand the court. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) shared her opinion in a tweet after the vote took place.
Expand the court.

Rather than just looking at stacking the courts, Democrats are considering a complete federal court system makeover. One Senator said that there was a need for a complete makeover due to the number of appointments that Trump has made across the entire federal court system.
It is very clear that Democrats intend to make the court system a fight if they happen to win control in November. They are relying on the potential for a Biden win in November, as well as hoping that Americans allow them to retake control of the Senate.
Democrats taking control of the Senate is the worst thing that could happen for our country. If Democrats retake the Senate, that would mean they most likely have taken the Presidency as well. As Eric so perfectly said earlier, this would be devastating to our country.
It is absolutely critical that Republicans retain, at a minimum, the Senate. While I believe that the Presidency and Senate are well within reach, without the Senate, our nation is lost.
