After a recent trip by Congressional delegates, the border situation took some new turns. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez began to share details that outlined her trip to the detention center.
There were a lot of people that began writing articles jumping on each side of the issue, but we waited before writing so the story could play out. Soon after the reports, additional information came out about her claims regarding drinking water from toilets.
Representative AOC admitted this was the type of toilets she was describing, but the water in the one she witnessed was not working. The picture above is in one area of a detention center, so no doubt there are multiples.
AOC continued by sharing the tweet below where the concerns regarding overcrowding were discussed. We’ve been hearing about overcrowding for quite some time and the need for additional funding to address the issue.
AOC then contradicted herself by tweeting out the below tweet claiming that the shelter was not overcrowded. The problem is that she fails to mention all the details.
The congresswoman fails to mention that she voted against the border bill, which provided funding for the various shelters in addition to the additional funds for CBP agents and humanitarian care for the immigrants. If she was for helping the immigrants, wouldn’t she vote for the border bill to attempt to start helping?
She continued on Twitter with the concentration camp talk. In a tweet on Tuesday, she claimed that all 3 criteria leading to death in a concentration camp were met.
Again, the hypocrisy of her statement shines through as she voted against the border bill which provided the resources and help to alleviate these issues that she claims. Just the day before, she commented that there wasn’t overcrowding issues, but now there is overcrowding issues? She certainly isn’t helping produce any solutions to the problems at the border.
AOC’s last complaint was that the representatives were met with hostility by the CBP agents at the facilities visited. She complained that they were told the facility was a secure facility and they were not allowed to take their phones. She was quite upset at the lack of special treatment and the apparent lack of red carpet treatment for her and her colleagues. This isn’t the entire story from what we hear however.
The Washington Examiner has a story that shared AOC was yelling threatening at CBP agents and even refused to tour a facility opting to stay in a separate area visiting with a family. She wants to complain about the actions of CBP agents and claim that they are attacking her, but she wants to disrespect them and yell at them.
The fact is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an embarrassment to the Democratic Party and in this overall situation. She wants to complain about the issues, but do nothing to help fix the issues. It’s the same actions the Democratic Party has had on display for some time. It’s no wonder that her district is trying to find a way to eliminate her position.
