The NY Times caught a lot of heat from the left on Monday night as they released the Tuesday First Edition. A copy of the original headline can be seen in tweets below. The headline was quickly changed after backlash from many on the left, such as Democratic Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke.
In the original post, The NY Times correctly talked about President Trump’s speech in that he called for unity vs racism. Obviously, this statement went sharply against Democratic talking points and the left quickly called out one of their own.
The NY Times quickly changed the article and front page photo calling the original “flawed.” The new title, “Assailing Hate, But Not Guns,” Is certainly more appealing to their readership and to support the left cause. This was certainly a mis-step by the paper who often relies on promoting the liberal agenda rather than promoting the actual unbiased news. According to AOC, the cowardice of the paper is part of the white supremacy problem.
This is another great example how the party of tolerance is not very tolerant when someone disagrees with their point of view, even when they didn’t really disagree. You see, the articles title is a little misleading based on the actual content of the article.
The actual article slams President Trump for not speaking out supporting gun control measures and only speaking out against white supremacy. Democrats have been asking for him to do this for some time and when he speaks out, it’s still not enough. President Trump did call for additional work on gun legislation, as can be seen in his tweets below.
Democrats weren’t happy with the headline by The NY Times because it wasn’t catchy enough to continue to push their agenda. It continues to show that Democrats are not concerned or interested in content, rather simply the headlines. If they were interested in content, they would have read the article before they reacted seeing as how it really did support them.
What do we expect from Democrats who have constantly reacted without actually reading anything. They enacted healthcare legislation that we had to “read to know what was in it.” They have consistently pushed violent rhetoric on various tragic events before the full story is known. Democrats are only interested in the headlines, not the actual subject matter and this must be a lesson to all Americans.
