The next rounds of partisan impeachment talks continue this week with Democrats calling additional witnesses for testimony. While the Schiff Show continues, new polls show that Americans simply do not care. Maybe the main stream media is finally figuring out what we have known all along.
From the beginning, we have called this a partisan attack on the President. We commented after the initial vote on impeachment how the vote was only along party lines and that not one single Republican supported the measure. The latest NPR/PBS Newshour/Marist poll shows that overwhelmingly American’s have already decided on impeachment.
The poll still tells that half of Americans support the impeachment inquiry. The thing is, the details of the poll are split on party lines. Republicans support the President, while Democrats support impeachment. The poll asks if the respondents are more likely to support impeachment based on the investigation and over 65% say they are unlikely to change their mind.
Party voters are clear on the situation, while Independent respondents were undecided. This is the key demographic, as we have discussed in the past. Testimonies are not changing the minds of voters. The inquiry is not changing the mind of voters.
According to the poll, only 45% want Trump removed, while 44% support him remaining in office. The support for Democrats to remove this President is simply not there. Trump’s approval level is remaining similar before and after the inquiry, so why bother continuing the show?
The problem is that Democrats simply do not want to admit defeat. This has been their issue all along. Clinton will not accept that she was defeated by President Trump. They call for the elimination of the electoral college and for other solutions to prevent their defeats in the future. The media continues to push the narrative that Republicans cannot win if the election is “fair.” By fair, they actually mean rigged where a Republican could never win.
The election system is an amazing design. It keeps the big cities and states from overruling rural America, just like it was designed to do. They simply cannot handle it. In the end, the Democrats are wasting taxpayer dollars due to their temper tantrum. Estimates are that the impeachment inquiry will cost around $2 million. Of course, this can change depending on the nature and outcome.
So while Democrats claim to be the party of love and care, they waste money on a useless inquiry. Rather than working on solutions, they waste money on an impeachment inquiry that will not succeed. They claim to want to provide healthcare, but they can’t even get their act together to provide a reasonable representation for their constituents. Democrats in Congress are a total failure.
