On Wednesday, our nation witnessed a historic failure of the US House of Representatives. Led by Democrats, President Donald Trump was impeached. After hours of statements discussing evidence (which doesn’t exist) and oaths, Democrats insisted that President Trump has done something. Something so bad, that they intend to continue to investigate him no matter the outcome.
This was not the failure of just one person, or a few. This was the failure of 230 members of Congress that have no concern for America. They did not seek evidence or a real investigation. Speaker Nancy Pelosi states this has been in the works for over 2 years. Rashida Tlaib made a vow in January to impeach President Trump. Not one crime was named, it is simply because he is disliked. Pelosi and AOC’s attempts to wear dark colors to represent a “somber” vote were simply costumes for the show.
What does all this mean? For one, President Trump is still the President of the United States. Absolutely nothing will change in that sense. The Democrats can continue to waste their time in the House. They will continue to waste their majority and do nothing for the American people. Democrats will continue to abuse their positions for personal gain and to hide their own corruption.
Adam Schiff stood on the House floor stood and said that we used to stand for Democracy and for freedom and against corruption. The fact is, with this vote, Democrats have fully thrown their support behind socialism in the United States. It’s not one party or one candidate, it is all of them. They have shown they have no concern for the US citizens or the voting process. The only concern is that they simply win.
Rep. Schiff even stated to uphold the constitution meant that one party did not have rule over another. Yet, that is exactly what these Democrats are doing. The Republicans were given no say or ability to investigate. It was a completely partisan hit job on the President of the United States. I’ve said many times, I do not agree with everything he does or how he does it. In this instance, everything the Democrats are doing to him is wrong.
On complete party lines, Democrats have voted to impeach President Trump. The two Democrats that were thought to have defected did, with Rep. Tulsi Gabbard voting present on article one. On article two, three Democrats voted nay while Tulsi Gabbard again voted present. Again, without evidence or proof, Democrats have moved forward. Speaker Pelosi struggled to get the words out of her mouth and threatened Democrats to keep silent after announcing the results.
Now the case moves to the Senate, where President Trump will be acquitted. Leader Mitch McConnell has stated the trial will be quick and fair. The expectation is for this to be taken up soon after the Christmas recess. I would say I hope that Democrats will start to work towards the future. Except, they’ve already told us that they intend to continue with their wasteful inquiries. November 2020 cannot get here soon enough so we can replace these Democrats with some true representatives to address America’s issues.
