On the morning after the House Democrat, diabolical impeachment of the 45th President of the United States, the Dems have already seen a break in ranks with Congressman Jeff Van Drew switching sides, leaving the Democratic Party to join the ranks of the GOP. On Thursday, Rep. Van Drew met President Trump for an impromptu photo-op, after he voted against both articles of impeachment. “I’m endorsing him, okay? We are endorsing him,” President Trump told reporters Thursday morning.
“This is just a better fit for me,” Van Drew said, explaining the move. According to FiveThirtyEight, Van Drew has voted in line with Trump 10% of the time. Vice President Pence added, “[Van Drew] Your district will be as grateful as we are.” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was also present for the Trump-Van Drew meeting, adding, “We only need 18 more to be the majority, and I think we will do that very soon.” So, is this just the beginning? Are the rats abandoning ship?
Van Drew and Minnesota Congressman Collin Peterson voted against both articles and were joined by freshman Democrat JD Golden, of Maine, in voting against the second. No Republican broke party rank and either abstained or voted in favor of either article. A glance of the tea leaves indicates that this entire impeachment proceeding will eventually lead to the demise of the Democratic Party – with President Trump getting an almost double-digit bump in the latest national polls. Van Drew, like many other Democrats, is realizing that Master Puppeteer Pelosi, and her 3-year “Witch Hunt” against the President, will result in their immediate exit during the 2020 election.
Van Drew is no idiot; frankly, he sees the momentum swing in favor of the President, and the extreme frustration growing against the Democratic Party. Van Drew’s New Jersey district supported Trump in 2016 – deep down, he knows that should he fail to flip to the side of the victor, his days in the house are numbered. House Democrats, like many other Liberals across the nation and can see the writing on the wall – they are solely responsible for the sinking of their rat-infested ship. The entire impeachment investigation was a total sham, a mob-like hit against the sanctity of the Office of the President. Now, at Christmas, rather than admit that they stand defeated, they would instead take their unraveling wrapped gift of embarrassment and hold out for a holiday Hail Mary to save their “Communist Cabooses.”
