Reports released earlier this week about Speaker Nancy Pelosi and potential ties to Ukraine. The suggestion was made that Pelosi’s son, Paul Pelosi, Jr., was on the board of a oil company. The initial report came from One American News Network and was even shared on social media by President Trump.
The main stream media was quick to come to the defense of Pelosi. Multiple sites went on the record saying the claim was false. There are a few things you should know in regards to this. One, Pelosi’s son was on the board of the oil corporation as it was claimed. He admits to this in the video that was shared. Yet, there is no proof of the Ukraine ties.
The ties were attempted in regards to advertising that included a prominent Ukrainian and the ties of the gas company to several projects after it folded. The company converted to a new organization that did business in Ukraine, but the corruption that is said as “potential” is really a stretch. But there is something here.
In 2014, Pelosi’s son was a co-founder of a company that was involved in a scandal. Natural Blue Resources, Inc. was said to be established as an investment company that focused on environmentally friendly business. A couple of other interesting things appear in the SEC filings for this one. The first, Toney Anaya, former Democratic governor of New Mexico was implicated in the SEC filings. The second, two convicted felons names appear. Both were known in the fraud community.
So while Pelosi’s family has taken up with criminals, there’s no evidence that anything happened in regards to Ukraine with her son. That is not the same for Pelosi herself. Pelosi is known to have led a delegation to Ukraine during the Obama administration. There are others reporting that Pelosi’s son has taken trips as part of his current role to Ukraine.
In this role, he has secured meetings with various government officials. He has not been shy about using Pelosi in videos in the past, showing he is not afraid of using his mother for personal gain. Some people on a certain side of the aisle may suggest this has the resemblance of a quid pro quo or corruption, but we will not say that here.
