I was forced to sit down as I read the headline, Trump is looking strong for reelection. Not that the topic surprised me, however. I’ve argued for some time that Trump’s reelection looks strong. You may want to sit down for this as well, because it will probably surprise you too.
The article was over at…CNN! Yes, it must have absolutely killed CNN to run an article that talked about how strong the President looks in his reelection bid. In their own writing, CNN has mostly talked about Bernie Sanders momentum and the lead that some of those have on Trump nationally. Yet, this article actually looks into he details.
In the article, it shows Trump’s approval at 45% overall. That’s the highest it’s been since March 2017. It also reports that Trump’s approval rating in battleground states is even higher. The writer shares his concern that the results from the CNN poll are eerily similar to another poll out of Wisconsin. He highlights that with this position, Trump is in a good position to win reelection.
The article continues and talks about voter enthusiasm, which plays a big role. Trump’s approval rating among enthusiastic voters is at 54% in battleground states. Of course, the article ends on the note that Trump is not liked by Americans but that he “may win reelection.” CNN simply could not do it.
Even after spending several paragraphs talking about his strength, CNN couldn’t end the article on a positive note about Trump. That would go against everything they stand for. Trump is evil and a horrible person. He deserves to be out of office, at least that’s what they think. But poll after poll shows that Trump is just as strong now as he was before.
The other focus on this is the head to head matchups. The problem with them is that you have to look state by state rather than overall national. Why? Because the electoral college. You know, that thing the Democrats want to get rid of. Trump leads in the majority of states and with a strong performance in the battleground states, will easily win reelection in November.
This absolutely crushes the left and the media as they continue through their impeachment process. Thankfully, we have an electoral college system and a representation system that will prevent the leftist mob from eliminating the results of the 2016 election. But have no fear. I’m sure they will try again in 2020.
