Atlanta, G.A. – The media has made no secrets about how they feel in regards to President Trump. They have criticized when he has taken action during the coronavirus response and they have criticized when he has not acted during coronavirus response. No matter how you look at it, the media continues to push an anti-Trump narrative at every turn.
Just last night on CNN, Don Lemon suggested that CNN should discontinue coverage of President Trump’s press conferences on coronavirus. This is the same sentiment that many others have displayed. In a recent column, the LA Times called Trump’s press conferences excruciating and dangerous. Others, such as Vox, have went after his leadership. In the end, it really isn’t surprising given their hatred of President Trump.
Another one, The Boston Globe, took to an editorial to say that President Trump has blood on his hands. Here’s a little more from that editorial that I think is worth quoting for you to see.
Dangling unverified cures and possible quarantines in front of the public like reality TV cliffhangers, he unsettles rather than reassures. The pandemic reveals that the worst features of this presidency are not merely late-night comedy fodder; they come at the cost of lives, livelihoods, and our collective psyche.
It’s evident that CNN, Vox, the LA Times and The Boston Globe have editorial staff filled with epidemiologists and economic experts. Haven’t you read all about their suggestions for potential cures and ways to help combat the coronavirus? No, you haven’t. Because their only solution for potentially battling the coronavirus is to use it to eliminate President Trump.
The media wants to utilize the coronavirus as a means to eliminate Trump, the most evil enemy of all. If you don’t believe me, look at what they have said about Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). A couple days ago, Rubio put out a tweet about how the media was responding to the coronavirus numbers. You can see it below.
Some in our media can’t contain their glee & delight in reporting that the U.S. has more #CoronaVirus cases than #China
Beyond being grotesque,its bad journalism
We have NO IDEA how many cases China really has but without any doubt its significantly more than why they admit to
— Marco Rubio (@marcorubio) March 29, 2020
After his tweet, the media went after Rubio. One personality at ABC scolded Rubio. The Miami New Times from his home state of Florida also went after Rubio for the comments. Maybe the message Rubio was trying to send was not received well, but the heart of the message is truth.
The media has done nothing but belittle and berate President Trump since this whole thing started. It’s as if they expected President Trump to be a psychic, knowing exactly what to do or how to handle the situation. This is something that our nation has not faced in around 100 years, but he should have known better. Just the idea of this is absolutely absurd.
No one knew exactly what to do with the coronavirus. While China took some measures that the communist praising media has hailed as heroic, President Trump took calculated measures as information became available. The numbers that are being shared out of China are no doubt incorrect. Chinese citizens have called out inconsistencies among the reporting from their government. There are also reports that China failed to record asymptomatic patients as positive, even if the test results were positive.
China has always taken the standpoint that they do not want to look bad in the world’s view. Would China have withheld information about the virus to make itself look stronger? Yes, it would have. Secretary Mike Pompeo has commented on this in the past, including just a week ago about the coronavirus. The media wants to act like China is a hero and a role model, but they seem to forget that China is a communist country that is far from a friend of the United States.
Rather than focusing on an attempt to drive a positive message, the media is driving a continued message of fear. They do not want to discuss the potential treatments for coronavirus that Trump has mentioned. Even after the FDA granted approval to try the measures, the media wants to continue to push that he is wrong. It’s an all out media assault on President Trump, no matter what he does. In the end, it’s one that I believe he will win.
