Princeton, N.J. – Ziad Ahmed, a progressive activist from Princeton, New Jersey took to TikTok last week to rant to his followers. In two of his videos he complains about Bernie Sanders supporters who are still not on the “Biden train’ and urges them to vote for Joe Biden in November’s election.
Ziad went on to slam Bernie supporters by stating, “To the Bernie supporters on this app who still refuse to support Biden, my question to you is who are you serving and who are you helping? You get no brownie points for posturing ideological purity.”
I’m seeing way too many of my peers proudly claim that they won’t be voting for Biden in November, so I made this TikTok in response.

The progressive teen is known for his acceptance into Stanford University after he simply wrote, “#BlackLivesMatter” 100 times over in his college acceptance essay. He is currently attending Yale University.
The teen explained in a Twitter status that he has been seeing too many people admit they will not be casting a vote for Biden in November, and was compelled to make a video about this. He writes that, “We have lives to save – and an egomaniac to beat.”
Apart from all of this – who is Ziad Ahmed that we should really care about his political rantings? While at first glance he portrays himself as yet another young activist from a minority upbringing, he makes no mention of his privileged upbringing. His father, Shakil Ahmed, was the former Managing Director for both Morgan Stanley and Citbank.
While Ziad wants to downplay his privilege, it is clear that he has ties to establishment Democratic Party politicians such as – Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama.
His Instagram account features a photo of him standing next to failed Democratic party candidate and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Along with this, in 2016 he previously served as an intern for Hillary Clinton’s campaign – a candidate who once stated that, nobody liked Bernie, or wanted to work with him because he got nothing done.
Senator Bernie Sanders is Democratic Socialist who threw his hat into the Presidential election of 2016 and once more for 2020. Part of his appeal was that he was the Democratic Party’s version of Donald Trump. He drew supporters from the middle class to young college students who were tired of the same old establishment candidates.
With such promises like, free healthcare, no more debt, and expanded Social Security Bernie Sanders inspired and at the same time frightened a lot of people with his socialist agenda.
For Ziad to slam Bernie supporters and tell them to basically, “Get over it,” and vote for a candidate that they feel doesn’t have their best interests at heart is insensitive to say the least.
He is not just a regular young college student who previously may have supported Bernie Sanders. He is a young, privileged progressive activist who has been bought and paid for by the establishment Democratic Party.
Ziad does not echo the political views and interests of many hard working, middle-class Americans.
