Charlotte, NC — Last night, The Pentagon announced that SEAL Team Six rescued an American citizen that was taken hostage in Nigeria. The elite soldiers killed several of the individuals involved with the kidnapping and took one of them into custody.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said, “It was a successful operation to rescue an American hostage. We are so glad to see it. Under this president, we’ve rescued 55 hostages in 24 countries.”
Thank goodness the logic of the Left is not used here as it is almost always flawed and useless. Once again, our military and elite special forces units have carried out a successful military mission that has reunited a loved one with their family. If this had been from the left, I could imagine the storyline.
The President, Joint Chiefs, Secretary of State, and the Secretary of Defense should have waited to bring this American hostage home until after the election! Why? Because the American people should decide the next president who could then determine if this rescue mission would be carried out.
Never in history has this type of operation been attempted so close to an election. Moreover, and even though I can’t prove it, I am supremely confident this was also part of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying wish–that this hostage be left with his captors until November 4th! People are voting right now. Truly abhorrent.
Details of the rescue
The Trump 2020 campaign adviser pointed out the president has been doing more than just campaigning, noting that a few days ago, President Trump met with U.S. Special Forces troops involved in last year’s raid to kill ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi.
CBS News reported that Philip Walton, 27, was kidnapped from his home in Southern Niger on Tuesday. “Officials had feared the gang would sell him to terrorists operating in the region,” the report explained.
“U.S. forces conducted a hostage rescue operation during the early hours of 31 October in Northern Nigeria to recover an American citizen held hostage by a group of armed men,” Chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement, “This American citizen is safe and is now in the care of the U.S. Department of State.”
The statement also noted that no U.S. military personnel were injured in the operation.
Last Tuesday, six armed men went to Walton’s home on motorcycles and captured him, leaving his family behind. The group demanded a ransom for his safe return.
The details of the raid have not yet been released, but Walton is now being held at the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Niamey. “The United States is committed to the safe return of all US citizens taken captive,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement. “We delivered on that commitment late last night in Nigeria, where some of our bravest and most skilled warriors rescued a U.S. citizen after a group of armed men took him, hostage, across the border in Niger.”
He added, “We will never abandon any American taken hostage.”
President Trump celebrated the successful operation in a tweet on Saturday morning.

“In the waning days of a presidency before a massive reelection, you typically don’t get a lot done, but this president is the exception,” McEnany said. “That’s the story of this presidency. We don’t stop. WE go to 14 states, we rescue hostages, we secure Middle East peace, we do it in record time, and we do it three days before an election.”
Foreign policy and military actions have been a tremendous strength for this president. With Middle East peace gradually occurring as more nations are signing on with The Abraham Accords, the President continues to win ‘bigly!’ He is the first president in a very long time not to have started a war while in office. He acts swiftly and without hesitation.
Like clockwork, other networks hardly touched the success of this mission. Unsurprisingly, the mainstream media goes ‘dark’ each time the president has success abroad. The United States is the greatest country to have ever existed, and this is because, in large part, of our amazing military.
I love that the President is undeterred in doing what is right. Too often, politicians are singularly focused, and, without question, this president could fall in line with that same thinking given how tight and how high the stakes are in this election.
For so long, Washington, D.C., and the country have longed for a president who says what he means, means what he says, and keeps his promises. We now have a fighter in the White House!
