AOC declared Rittenhouse bail as example of systemic racism and white supremacy

AOC, Rittenhouse bail, bail, Kenosha, Wisconsin, systemic racism, white supremacy,

Charlotte, NC — On Saturday, Kyle Rittenhouse was released from jail on a $2 million bail. Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow, and actor Ricky Schroder helped raise the money for Rittenhouse’s bail. Rittenhouse faces charges for shooting two individuals during the Kenosha riots, where he says he acted in self-defense.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was not very happy with the posting of bail for Rittenhouse. In a Twitter statement, she called the action racist and an example of white supremacy. She also said it was law and disorder, playing on President Trump’s statements of law and order.

Does anyone believe Rittenhouse would be released if he were Muslim & did the same thing in a diff context? For people who say “systemic racism doesn’t exist,” this is what it looks like: protection of white supremacy baked deep into our carceral systems.

Law and disorder.

— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) November 21, 2020

AOC has advocated for those who are in jail to be let out of jail because it is full of systemic racism and white supremacy views. She claims that prison unfairly targets people of color, and then she gave the example of a Muslim in her Twitter statement.

She also called Rittenhouse privileged due to his ability to post bail and be released from prison. Being Muslim is not a race, so that is not white supremacy or racism at all. AOC does not understand how the legal system works apparently or how flexible and easy the legal system in New York City is.

Judges are the ones who set bail and allow individuals to pay the fee and obtain release. Rittenhouse would have never been able to afford that bail amount on his own, just as she would argue that many in her home of New York City would not be able to afford the small bond amounts.

New York City has one of the most flexible bail systems in the country. They have an online bail system, allowing someone to go online and pail bail on behalf of anyone in jail. AOC herself could even take her salary, which is significantly higher than the average income of her constituents, and use that to pay bail.

The problem for AOC is that this is a young man who identified with Trump supporters. She is not interested in Trump supporters being let out of jail, only those who support Democrats.

AOC is not concerned about this young man or the outcome of his court case. She has never been interested in court cases, after all. All she is interested in is pandering to social justice causes.

Why else would she drop the example of Muslim above when that has nothing to do with racism and white supremacy?

Court Commissioners in the Kenosha area have argued that Rittenhouse was a flight risk due to his potential of facing life in prison or decades in prison. According to reports, Rittenhouse also feared such a punishment for his actions, but the case has yet to be tried. His bond was set at $2 million, an amount much higher than normal due to this.

By all indications, Rittenhouse acted in self-defense during the shootings, but the mainstream media and the left want to use him as an example. They want to use him as an example of what should happen to anyone on the right that defends themselves.

Of course, if Rittenhouse is found not guilty, AOC and her radical progressive helpers will all complain that it is again another example of white supremacy and systemic racism. After all, no one on the right is able to do anything without it being a crime.
