Charlotte, NC — Social media site Parler is now back online for users across the globe. The social media site that many conservatives had flocked to had been offline for many weeks following attacks from Big Tech giants and the accusations that the platform was used to coordinate the riots at the US Capitol.
The website has a different look and feel, as users were required to log in to their account. The front page boasts a quote that says, “Speak freely and express yourself openly, without fear of being “deplatformed” for your views.”
On logging in, the website appears somewhat similar to previous versions of the site. The mobile application is also working when tested by our social media team at The Liberty Loft. The website and application was experiencing some slow operation in our initial assessment.
Parler recently fired its CEO and the public story became a hot topic surrounding his departure. There was much conversation about the company coming back and if it would come back. The return to the internet of the platform is a win for free speech amid attacks by tech giants.
