Chicago, IL — Several Turning Point USA posters were placed on message boards at Glenbrook South High School, located in Glenview, IL. The city is a suburb of the big Democrat stronghold of Chicago and apparently, the posters were not well received.
The poster contained an image with a hammer and sickle that said “China Kinda Sus” across it. The poster was trying to promote the conservative group, known for its catchy sayings such as this. You can see a copy of the poster below.

Groups are saying that the poster is anti-Asian and racist. They have raised concerns that an assistant principal approved the poster, as seen circled on the image. The image prompted a response from the Illinois General Assembly as well.
According to Daily Herald, state Rep. Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz and state Sen. Laura Fine both met with the superintendent of the schools following their concern with the image. They stated that Glenbrook High Schools District 225 Superintendent Dr. Charles Johns agreed to apologize and provide training for anti-Asian hate and racism. But as you can clearly see from the image, there is no anti-Asian agenda being promoted. To suggest that this is promoting anti-Asian hate is ridiculous.
Instead, the image is obviously promoting an anti-China message. It’s clearly a message that China’s communism sucks, as the Turning Point organization regularly promotes and that most conservatives agree with. The message does not promote hate at all.
The problem is that this is a conservative group that is attempting to promote an anti-communist, anti-socialist agenda and the radical left simply cannot tolerate that. They cannot stand anyone that would stand against their radical views with an opinion that communism sucks.
The radical left will seize on this opportunity to try and attack the conservative group because of its stance and the fact that it was founded by Trump supporter Charlie Kirk. Kirk founded Turning Point USA in 2012 as a 501(c)3 and the organization’s website states that its mission is to identify, educate, train, and organize students to promote the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government. In other words, everything that radicals hate.
