Hunter Biden sought to get millions of dollars for a Department of Defense (DoD) contractor connected to research on deadly germs in Ukraine, according to emails recovered from his now-verified laptop.
The emails, which were first reported by The Daily Mail last week, back up Russian officials’ assertions that the first son helped fund Ukrainian biolabs.
The emails were from Jack Maxey, a former co-host of Steve Bannon’s “War Room” and a member of LifeSite’s “Faith and Reason” show, according to the Daily Mail.
According to the emails, Hunter Biden’s investment firm, Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners (RSTP), raised millions of dollars for Metabiota, a biotech company specializing in infectious illness research that might be exploited in biowarfare.
Hunter was personally involved in RSTP’s discussions with Metabiota, which began shortly after the ouster of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in 2014, and spoke with top Metabiota executives about the company’s “activity in Ukraine.” According to the emails, RSTP also appears to have introduced Metabiota to a corrupt Ukrainian energy corporation with whom Biden was involved.
RSTP was a spinoff of Hunter Biden’s Rosemont Capital investment firm, which he co-founded with Christopher Heinz, the stepson of former US Secretary of State John Kerry, in 2009. Pilot Growth Equity is the new name for the firm.
According to emails obtained by The Daily Mail, RSTP invested at least $500,000 in Metabiota in 2014 and raised millions in financing for the biotech startup from other investment firms, including Goldman Sachs.

RSTP and Metabiota began working together just weeks after Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych was deposed in February 2014, following months of upheaval aided by the US administration. In March of that year, Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula in southern Ukraine.
A memo from Metabiota vice president Mary Guttieri explaining how her company could “establish Ukraine’s cultural and economic independence from Russia” was sent to Hunter Biden a few days later.
On the same day that The New York Post broke the news on Hunter Biden’s laptop, Twitter and Facebook banned The New York Post over their exposés about Hunter Biden’s emails, with Twitter falsely accusing The New York Post of using “hacked materials.”
The New York Times took 18 months to make their decision.
Liberal democracies are built on the foundations of press freedom and freedom of speech. Liberal does not refer to a political ideology or a political party on the left-right political spectrum. Liberal simply means “free,” emphasizing the importance of individual liberty.
A society that lacks these characteristics is neither liberal nor democratic. Twitter. Facebook and Google have all made it clear that they are anti-democratic and illiberal.
“Hunter Biden … was actually talking about his ties to one of these labs in Ukraine that was, in fact, developing pathogens that could cause pandemics,” Philipp said, confirming he has seen the emails, which were not exclusive to the Daily Mail, and it is true.
Last week the Daily Mail reported:
“The Russian government held a press conference Thursday claiming that Hunter Biden helped finance a US military ‘bioweapons’ research program in Ukraine. However, the allegations were branded a brazen propaganda ploy to justify president Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and sow discord in the US.
“But emails and correspondence obtained by DailyMail.com from Hunter’s abandoned laptop show the claims may well be true. The emails show Hunter helped secure millions of dollars of funding for Metabiota, a Department of Defense contractor specializing in research on pandemic-causing diseases. He also introduced Metabiota to an allegedly corrupt Ukrainian gas firm, Burisma, for a ‘science project’ involving high biosecurity level labs in Ukraine.
“The president’s son and his colleagues invested $500,000 in Metabiota through their firm Rosemont Seneca Technology Partners. They raised several million dollars of funding for the company from investment giants including Goldman Sachs.”
“From the US side it’s important to understand the way Russian disinformation works. The way it tends to work is through manipulating the conclusions of information … When you talk about psychological warfare … typically the way it works is you’re altering the conclusion that people may come to from the information. And so, it’s the interpretation of the surface information,” Philipp explained.
“Yes, there were biolabs in Ukraine. What were they being used for? That is where the propagandists would come into play. Now, who is telling the truth in terms of what the purpose of these labs was? That is for you to decide,” he said.

“Thanks so much for taking time out of your intense schedule to meet with Kathy [Dimeo, a Metabiota executive] and I on Tuesday,” she told Hunter. “We very much enjoyed our discussion.”
“As promised, I’ve prepared the attached memo, which provides an overview of Metabiota, our engagement in Ukraine, and how we can potentially leverage our team, networks, and concepts to assert Ukraine’s cultural and economic independence from Russia and continued integration into Western society,” Guttieri said.
Later that year, then-Vice President Joe Biden was appointed to supervise the Obama administration’s Ukraine policy.
Other emails suggest that RSTP linked Metabiota to Burisma, a shady Ukrainian energy firm that added Hunter Biden to its board of directors in May 2014.
Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi spoke to the younger Biden’s infamous business associate Devon Archer about a “scientific project” in Ukraine in an email shared to Hunter on April 8, 2014.

“Please find few initial points to be discussed for the purposes of analyzing the potential of this as you called, ‘Science Ukraine project,’” Pozharskyi said. “What kind of partnership Metabiota is looking for in Ukraine?”
Pozharskyi also mentioned Metabiota’s collaboration with Black & Veatch (B&V), a defense contractor that built biolabs for the US government in Ukraine.. “As I understand the Metabiota was a subcontract to principal contactor [sic] of the DoD B&V,” Pozharskyi said.
According to The Daily Mail, the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) commissioned B&V to create a Bio-Safety Level 3 facility in Odessa in 2010 to “improve the government’s existing monitoring systems to detect, report, and respond to bioterrorism attacks, diseases, and future pandemics.”
B&V was awarded a five-year DTRA contract worth $85 million in 2012.
According to government expenditure records, the Department of Defense awarded Metabiota more than $18 million between February 2014 and November 2016. A total of $307,091 was allocated to “Ukrainian research initiatives.”
Hunter Biden boasted in investor pitches that RSTP assisted Metabiota in “getting new customers,” such as “government agencies.” He and a close friend, Eric Schwerin, also talked about subletting office space to the company. Neil Callahan, a Metabiota board member, was once a RSTP executive and is now a managing partner at Pilot Growth Equity.
Schwerin described a $11 million transaction between RSTP and Metabiota in another email to Biden in late 2014.

The communications corroborate Russian government assertions that Hunter Biden supported “biological laboratories” in Ukraine.
“US President Joe Biden himself is involved in the creation of biolaboratories in Ukraine,” said Russia’s State Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, state-owned news agency Tass reported last week. “An investment fund run by his sun [sic] Hunter Biden funded research and the implementation of the United States’ military biological program.”
“It is obvious that Joe Biden, as his father and the head of state, was aware of that activity,” Volodin continued. He said that Joe Biden has an obligation “to explain to the world community the evidence concerning the activity of biological laboratories discovered in the course of the military operation in Ukraine.”
The Biden administration has dismissed Moscow’s assertions of US-backed bioweapons projects in Ukraine, but it has conceded that US-funded biolabs around the country are likely to contain deadly viruses. This month, the World Health Organization asked Ukraine to remove any disease-causing microorganisms in order to avoid “possible spills.”
According to the Daily Mail, Metabiota has ties to the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), a level-4 Chinese biosafety lab where SARS-CoV2 is likely to have originated.
The WIV is well-known for doing “gain of function” studies involving bat coronaviruses and infections that are almost identical to the new coronavirus. The study was conducted in partnership with the EcoHealth Alliance, a non-profit organization located in the United States.
A 2014 study on viral diseases in Chinese bats was co-authored by Metabiota, the WIV, and the EcoHealth Alliance.
Although the link to the emails has been removed, Jack Maxey published 253 emails from Hunter Biden’s laptop detailing RSTP’s participation with Metabiota on Saturday. Maxey has stated that he intends to make the contents of the laptops available to the general public in the near future.
After being abandoned at a computer repair shop miles from the Bidens’ Delaware home, the famed laptop was discovered in 2019. Last April, cybersecurity specialists authenticated the contents of the laptop, which are now being used in a federal probe into Hunter Biden’s taxes.
