Palo Alto, C.A. – Elon Musk needs no introduction. The businessman and founder of PayPal, SpaceX, and Tesla have made a $39.5 billion fortune off his ingenious ideas, and government funding. Now, as a result of local and state lockdowns, Musk is sharing his thoughts on the government’s role, and it isn’t positive!Â
Tesla CEO and founder Elon Musk had some choice words for the ongoing coronavirus-fueled lockdown on Wednesday, describing it as “fascist,” as reported by the Daily Caller.
The billionaire made the comments during a first-quarter Tesla earnings call with investors and was asked about the company’s liquidity when he suddenly went into a rant against the government.
The “Gospel” according to Musk
“To say that [people] cannot leave their house, and they will be arrested if they do, this is fascist,” Musk said. “This is not democratic. This is not freedom. Give people back their goddamn freedom.” He further described shelter-in-place orders as “forcibly imprisoning people in their homes,” and insisted that a continued shutdown would “cause great harm not just to Tesla, but to many companies. And while Tesla will weather the storm, many small companies will not.”
Over the last several years, Elon Musk has charged the government with endangering the lives of Americans. At the 2017 National Governors Association conference, Musk attacked leaders in their pursuit of Artificial Intelligence. He stated that legislators were “summoning the demon” and has warned time and time again that the technology poses an existential risk to humanity.
Like Trump, the Tesla founder has found solace on Twitter as his favored social media platform of opinion. On Friday, during what is being called an “odd rant,” Musk tweeted that he felt the company’s stock price was ‘too high.” Also, he revealed he was planning to sell off his physical possessions, including his seven, 100 million dollar homes. Elon’s comments on selling off his properties sent Tesla stock into a downward spiral, losing over 10 percent.
Home of the Brave?
On Friday, Musk appeared to have gone rogue in a series of incoherent tweets that included misquoted lyrics of The Star-Spangled Banner.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Perhaps the Most Controversial Tweet
Now give people back their FREEDOM

Unlike many of his liberal counterparts, Elon Musk is demanding that the government get out of the way. Lifting restrictions and reopening the economy are needed “now,” according to Musk.Â
The coronavirus curve already appears to be flattened, and new cases are on the decline across America. Over 20 states have begun the process of reopening their economies in some capacity, particularly the states of Georgia and Texas. President Donald Trump has confirmed that the CDC-mandated “social distancing” guidelines expired on May 1, and will not renew.Â
Elon Musk is an innovator, and he sees the American people’s initiative to innovate their way out of the clutches of the coronavirus as our country’s greatest assets. The government’s attempt to “spend their way” out of this virus is both dangerous and impractical. The American economy is the backbone of Our Democracy. We cannot afford to have COVID-19 claim our freedom as its next casualty!Â
