Chicago, IL — Let me start with my bona fides. I am a baseball fan, even more so a Chicago Cubs fan.
I have fond memories of going to Wrigley Field with my family, or traveling up to Milwaukee to see the Cubs play the Brewers almost annually when the Brewers moved from the American League to the National League.
I grew up watching Greg Maddux pitch in his early years, the great middle infield play of Ryan Sandberg and Shawn Dunston and I watched the amazing home run races between Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire, of the St. Louis Cardinals.
I suffered through the agony of the 2003 season when the Cubs saw a three games to one lead in the NLCS slip away against the Florida Marlins and experienced the joy and elation of the 2016 season when my Cubbies broke the over century long World Series drought, this time overcoming a three games to one deficit against the Cleveland Indians.
It’s important to state that at the onset. Often times when we hear groups, either on the left or the right, saying they’re going to boycott a product or a company, it’s often people who never consumed the products in the first place who have the loudest voices. It’s political all around. It’s politics that drive the businesses to do what they do, and it’s politics by the consumers driving them to do what they do.
For me, my disillusion with Major League Baseball (MLB), and professional sports in general, isn’t really about politics at all. It’s really about the lies upon lies that we’re being told, and it’s the lies coming from society in general more so than any asinine statements released by any corporation. And I will not call for any boycott. If you want to watch baseball, watch baseball. No matter what detractors say about baseball being too slow paced, it’s a great game and I love it.
The Liberty Loft has reported on MLB’s capitulation to the puppet president’s request to pull the All-Star Game from Atlanta. However, my disillusionment started last year.
I’ve never bought in or accepted the government’s COVID-19 tyranny. It’s been political, from both sides by the way, from the start, and the government has never had authority to do anything that it’s done in the name of public safety. But, when it was announced that there would be a baseball season, albeit shortened, I thought at least that will give me some kind of respite from the anger of watching Democrat and Republican dictators take control and disgust at my fellow Americans bending over and taking all of the abuse.
I was wrong. I tuned into the Cubs opening game and watched as players would put a mask on in the dugout and take it off when they took the field. Mask on, mask off, mask on, mask off, etc. The players are exposing the big lie of the masks right in front of us, and yet people keep living the lie.
The next lie, there was crowd noise being piped into the stadiums. We’re watching the empty seats but hearing the noise. Just another lie for us to swallow.
Now, lets move to the big lie of the Georgia election “reform” scandal.
First off is the Biden lie. We’ve all heard the lies that have even been exposed by even mainstream media factcheckersabout voting hours and passing out water. Let’s talk about the whopper of Biden likening the “reforms” to Jim Crow Laws. This is coming from a guy who supports vaccine passports. If you’re unvaccinated under Biden’s rules, you’re not going to be relegated to the back of the bus (or airplane), you’re not going to be allowed on the bus at all. If you’re unvaccinated, you’re not going to be able to do business at all if Biden has his way.
How about the lie that Georgia’s “reforms” strengthen elections? The so-called “reforms” literally codified the mass vote-by-mail scam of the COVID-era. It makes voting easier then ever before, except maybe the 2020 election, and conservatives are defending it. There is no defense for these “reforms” from conservatives, but hey, Georgia has a Republican governor so I guess we must go along with the lie, huh?
And here’s the biggest lie regarding elections, one that’s been perpetuated for decades and decades. We’re told that voting is the most important, the most sacrosanct right we have. It’s not. In fact, one could argue you don’t have a right to vote at all. Voting, as it has come to be in modern America, is nothing more than extortion nowadays. We’re told we have two teams that we have to choose from, and if your team wins they’ll dole the stolen money from taxpayers to your favorite pet projects. If the other team wins, the money stolen from you will fund projects you don’t support. Voting is nothing but a racket in an entitled, dependent society which America most definitely is today.
I would give up my vote any day if it meant my right to free speech, my right to own guns, my right to due process and any other real important right were protected.
So, for now, I have a hard time tuning into baseball. I can’t say I won’t attempt to watch a game here or there, but it’s depressing tuning into any entertainment when the lies are destroying our society. The bread and circuses kept the Romans thoroughly pacified, and its doing the same in America.
