In her second failed attempt to seek the office of President of the United States, Hillary Clinton in 2016 stated: “I’m a progressive who likes to get things done.” Since its European founding in the 1700s, “Progressive Thought” has lacked in getting a lot accomplished despite the philosophy being adopted in part by both Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson. Beginning in 1899 and into the early 1900s, Teddy Roosevelt was known to the world as a “Trust Buster;” attacking American’s largest financiers and commercial giants for fear of concentrated, economic power for the wealthy elite. Contrary to popular belief, Teddy and today’s liberals have a lot in common with regards to their attack on capitalism.
Theodore Roosevelt, like many in today’s “Liberal Machine,” grew up as a wealthy child of real “white privilege.” Access to the best education, travel, and experiences, young Teddy was able to use his family’s fortune to enter politics and unlike Clinton, obtain the office as the Commander in Chief of the United States. Like Clinton and other “Progressives” today, Teddy attacked the elite, the same class of wealth that allowed him the opportunities of a successful politician. In fact, according to the New York Times in 1878, a study revealed that Theodore Roosevelt inherited $60,000, which is worth about 1.3 million in 2014. According to Business Insiders, The Net Worth of the American Presidents from Washington to Obama, Teddy’s estate had a net worth of around $125 million in today’s dollars (2014).
Today’s “Liberal Progressives” have continued the “Teddy Legacy” in attacking American Capitalism; from Wall Street to Main Street, major corporations and small businesses find themselves in the sniper sights of the Democratic-led Congress. From increased taxation and regulation to forced wages and employment hiring criteria, today’s American Business finds itself in jeopardy of being in DEFAULT, like their 27 “Progressive Cousins” across the pond. The EU is and has been a DISASTER on all fronts; the “Progressive” European economy has touted a jobless rate as high as 11%, from 2000 until today, the average unemployment rate was 8.84%, with a record low of 6.30% in May 2019. What is most astounding is the youth EU unemployment rate, which currently sits at a low of 14.20%, but has been as high as 24%. In contrast, thanks to Republican-led tax incentives and reduction of government regulation, American businesses have been enticed and rewarded in their efforts to employ the younger population. Unlike the failed European Progressive Initiative, in July 2019, today’s American youth unemployment rate stands at 8.1%; never rising above 9.1% since Trump has taken office. Now, Hillary…” that’s getting things done!”
Today’s coined “Progressives” hardly live up to their name – under a Democratic-led presidency and Congress, America has been plagued with economic and financial ruin; astonishing unemployment, housing, and automaker taxpayer-funded bailouts, and civil litigations that have brought Americans and businesses to their knees. Let us not forget the “political pool” that today’s “Progressives” are attempting to brainwash – today’s YOUTH. From college classrooms, today’s educational elite spoon-feed the American younger generation of visions of free this and free that – all at the expense of government spending and high taxation of the wealthy and successful. Let Teddy’s wallet speak from the grave and let us look at today’s Democratic-elite – wealth knows no party; contrary to popular belief, the Republican party is not made up of old, rich, white guys and trust fund babies. Instead, unlike the Democratic party made of trial attorneys, Hollywood starlets, professional athletes, and lifelong politicians; Republicans today are made up of blue collar, working class, God-fearing, responsible Americans that fail to drink the Kool-Aid of “Government Knows Best.”
American youth today lack direction, and honestly, it isn’t their fault. Beyond the lack of clarity and support for action in their household, many young people today are falsely misled into thinking that life meets anyone halfway, college is for everyone, and mediocrity is rewarded. Today’s Progressive Agenda is to force upon both our youth and the population at-large that government knows best – that a Democratic-led Congress made up of “Catered-To, Closet Socialists” have the best direction in their remix of Democracy. During the American Revolution, Mather Byles, British Loyalist, was coined in saying (later spoken by Mel Gibson in the movie, The Patriot) “Which is better – to be ruled by one tyrant three thousand miles away or by three thousand tyrants one mile away?” Despite his allegiance to the Crown, Byles was onto something!
