Now that the Democrats have admitted they are defeated, the main stream media picks up their cause. Outlets are reporting that the Senate is opening its trial with moderate Republicans being under pressure. Who has them under pressure? The media and Democrats of course.
Bloomberg has an article suggesting that these Republicans are under pressure. Very few Republicans are placing any pressure on them to do anything. In the most recent poll, which is from Economist/YouGov, Republicans disagree with impeachment and approval is at 85%. Independents is at 44%. This is a completely partisan issue with Democrats being the party supporting impeachment.
But you will not hear that from the media. It’s not like they are unbiased in their attempts to report the news. We clearly state at The Liberty Loft that we are about conservative views and commentary. You will not see this disclaimer on main stream media sites. But the bias is there.
It was easily evidenced in Bloomberg’s own statements in December where he said that his reporters have restrictions on them. We also know that CNN has placed similar focus on taking sides. Project Veritas proved this through their video releases.
But we are told the media is trustworthy. We should trust them to inform us, but all we hear is that Trump is guilty. Now they are pushing an statement from the Government Accountability Office which says that Trump is guilty. Have you heard one single positive article from any major news outlet (besides FoxNews) that suggests Trump may be innocent?
I’m sure you haven’t because they simply will not allow them to run. The media is absolutely biased against Trump and it’s obvious. We all knew this and hence the reason Trump made famous the term “fake news.” But now the media is the one championing the impeachment story. They are pushing hard to try to change the perception of the public.
Yet, they are failing too. In the same Economist/YouGov poll, 94% of Trump voters and 7% of Clinton voters do not support impeachment. Same poll, 86% of Republicans and 44% of Independents, both majorities, say that removing Trump is a bad idea. Interestingly, 8% of Clinton voters say that removing him is a bad idea.
The left believes that continuing to beat the airwaves and news cycle with impeachment will somehow change public opinion. The House Democrats learned that it was not going to happen in their month long article holdout. When will the media learn? They won’t. They will continue with this until November 2020 at least.
