Washington, DC – Last year, Democrats unleashed an elaborate plan to impeach President Trump. Although the House voted to impeach him, the Senate did not convict. Now, it seems that some of their story may be starting to fall apart.
On Thursday, Fox News reports that emails indicate Marie Yovanovitch lied under oath to Congress about her knowledge of Burisma Holdings. Burisma is the natural gas company at the center of the Presidential impeachment investigation. It has ties to Joe Biden’s son.
Yovanovitch testified that she had limited knowledge of Burisma, only reading about it just before her testimony in November. She states that she obtained that knowledge from the press reports about the situation. She was called to testify amid reports that she was intimidated and improperly removed from her position as a matter of obstruction.
According to the Fox News report, a Freedom of Information Act request by Citizens United led to the discovery of the emails. In the request, over 160 pages of emails were recovered that show communications between Yovanovitch and embassy officials about Burisma as well as attorneys representing Burisma.
This seems to give the impression another elaborate cover up of corruption by the Obama administration. They had worked hard to cover up the Russia hoax that they were trying to prove. This is just the latest example of the widespread corruption that was present.
President Trump has taken this on as his mission to expose the corruption at all levels of the federal government. It’s obviously upset a lot of people, especially Joe Biden. Biden has a lot at stake in President Trump’s quest.
The Democrats would have you to believe that this is purely political, but is proving that someone acted illegally political? Biden openly admitted that he pressured the government to force out the former prosecutor looking into Burisma and corruption.
The situation does not look good for Biden who continues to struggle amid the Russia information release, sexual assault allegations and now this. While the Democrats may have thought they put the issue in Ukraine to rest, it looks like it’s back.
Citizens United has called on President Trump to release records related to the impeachment and Ukraine situation. He has had no issues in releasing records with other matters and it will be interesting to see if he does the same here.
