Washington, DC – After years of pushing the Russia collusion narrative, all of the major networks avoided on-air coverage of the Senate Judiciary learning of former Deputy and Acting Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Rosenstein testified yesterday about his involvement in the controversial investigation into President Trumps campaign.
The first of many witness hearings to come before the committee, Rosenstein was grilled today by Senate Judiciary chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC).
The biggest takeaway was his admission that had he known what he knows now, he would not have approved the reauthorization of he FISA warrants that allowed the surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.
CNN and MSNBC hyped the Russia collusion narrative for years before Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded that there was no collaboration between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin during the 2016 election. Both networks did offer a live-stream of the hearing on their websites.
Additonally, ABC, NBC, and CBS avoided the hearing in their evening news programs, but did manage to squeeze in the scathing late-breaking comments made from former Defense Secretary, General Jim Mattis. Mattis excoriated the president and his perceived divisiveness in a piece published in The Atlantic 30 minutes before the evening programs aired on the East Coast.
Mattis urged Americans to “reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.”
Despite the MSM declining to give this hearing on-air coverage, unsurprisingly there were fireworks today when Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) went after the former acting AG.
“You came into a profoundly politicized world [at DOJ], and yet all of this was allowed to go forward under your leadership. That unfortunately only leads to two possible conclusions,” Cruz said. “Either you were complicit in the wrongdoing, which I don’t believe is the case, or that the performance of your duties was grossly negligent.”

As The Liberty Loft has documented, much of the media have significantly downplayed the recent revelations surrounding the unmasking of General Michael Flynn. The recently declassified documents show there was obvious animous towards Flynn within the FBI with the appearance of a plotted perjury trap.
To add insult to injury, MSNBC’s most popular program, “The Rachel Maddow Show,” continued in May its extended nosedive in the cable news ratings. Some critics say it’s because the show’s eponymous host has spent the past several years misleading viewers.
Last month, Maddow finished behind five different Fox News programs in total viewership, including non-primetime shows “The Five” and “Special Report with Bret Baier.” CNN’s “Cuomo Prime Time” beat Maddow despite a negative month filled with negative publicity over his bro-friendly interviews with his sibling, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Even the little-watched “Anderson Cooper 360″ managed to tie Maddow among many key demographics in May.
While America is seeing an unprecedented news cycle filled with everything from a global pandemic to rampant joblessness to the tragic death of George Floyd in police custody, Maddow has continued to shed viewers each month in quarter one.
It is possible her decline could be permanent unless some other political paranoid delusion draws people back to her,” said Cornell Law School professor and media critic William A. Jacobson.
The Media Research Center Vice President Dan Gainor gave an interview with Fox News saying, “I think this is a battle of extreme idiocy and that favors CNN. Maddow has two strikes against her — she tends to be wonky and she lost a lot of leftist support when she was massively wrong about Russia. Even the left has the standard of wanting their pundits not to make them look bad. And she did.”
